Norwich Rising November Rehearsal
Norwich Rising November rehearsal at the Silver Rooms in Norwich. Using our Red Nose day Grant to have rehearsal space in a dry warm place is fantastic. The rehearsals are free for Women, children and men that love them. Next rehearsal is in 7th December 2015 on a Monday from 1pm to 2pm
In January the rehearsals are on the 10th and 24th on a Sunday between 3pm and 4pm.
Norwich Rising main event is on the 14th of February at the Forum for anyone to come and join in the dance.
The Silver rooms has had a lot of changes made to it so we can dance. New floor boards, big mirrors and an amazing garden.
This will be our 4th year of Norwich Rising. We started dancing on the street in the snow.
We our a group that has had enough of violence against Women in Norwich and the rest of the world. 1 in 3 Women has had some kind of violence happen to them, either domestic or on the street. Women are over this behaviour and don’t tolerate it. Emotional violence is just as painful as physical and we wont stand for that either.
Getting women together is one way of getting our point across.
It also makes people aware that refuges, counselling hot lines still need to stay open even in times of Austerity.
You can come along to a rehearsal or practise at home or in school. We are doing the dance that we have done in previous years from the One Billion and Rising website.
Check out our website www.norwichrising.wordpress.com
We are also going to be doing T-shirt screen printing in January with artist Chrissy Violet Sabberton so come along with your shirt and print a Norwich Rising T-Shirt.
Miriam Gita is teaching us the moves step by step.

Norwich Rising 2015
I suppose your wondering why Norwich Rising is in its 3rd year. Well after loosing a female friend to domestic violence and having several hundred friends and family injured and some severely injured for life by violent men maybe I have good reason to continue Norwich rising. I am not the only person that knows women that have had violent attacks, everyone does because its one in 3 women that have some kind of violent attack happen to them in the world. I can't compare it to anything else because there isn't anything else as bad as this happening in the world. Women welcome and children as well as men that love them.

1st of February and 8th February at 3pm. There might also be a rehearsal on the 13th February in the evening before the main event at the Forum on the 14th February at 1pm. This event is happening in Norwich but there is also events all over the world if you take a look at the One Billion rising website.

Fundraz for Norwich Rising 2015
Norwich Rising is happening again next year 2015 but we need some funds for basics like insurance and posters or petrol for people teaching or petrol for school buses. We have so far over the years had people to come together and had a lot of people support the cause. Everyone puts there time in for free and is on the same page of wanting to end violence against women in Norwich and the rest of the world. This year we are going for crowd funding to try and help make it happen next year. I set up a crowd funding page here.
Shelly will be leading the Norwich Rising next year and we are going to keep it simple with the dance again and some star guest performers and a speaker. Also hoping schools and clubs can join in as its on a Saturday in 2015. Shelly has made a great film previously and looks after the website here
Norwich Says NO campaign this week run by city hall is focusing on Men saying no to violence.
2013 the crowds of dancers was enormous with people of all ages.
We also now have a bank account and a core team leading. If you would like to fund raise or help with Norwich Rising for 2015 please let us know we have a group on facebook you can leave a message there. In January we are going to have a Disco organised by Jasmine from Future radio.
