Paint out Norwich

Paint Out Norwich 2016 this year I was acccepted into the biggest east Anglican landscape competition and my mother Marian was too. I went off in the mornings to a more challenging views and she arrived on the bus from Cromer at lunchtime to paint together in the afternoon to do even more challenging views. Like having two canoes lashed together and both of us canoeing and painting views from the river.
Painting above is the train station in Norwich early in the morning looking intensely at all the lines of steel and cast iron can be mind blowing.  Takes along while with the quill pen to get the marks on the damp paper. I choose the station because it was pouring with rain and its a sort of awning which is ok in the rules. The staff were amazing and I had a good view of the old part of station and the trains through the modern smoked glass.
I would like to go back there later and paint other views.
Exhibition of all the paintings created at Paint Out Norwich as well as my mothers paintings and all the contestants work in the event is held at the Hostry in Norwich Cathedral.

Dandifest Highlights at the NNUH

Some of the work from Dandifest 2015 in Norwich has gone up at the NNUH hospital on the 2nd floor for a special exhibition. The work was randomly picked to go in the exhibition and was everything I could hang in a day. Next exhibition I would like to print out photos of the larger works from Dandifest and show them. But this will have to wait till next year when I have more time. This exhibition will be up till November.

Ships Wheel Art

This year for the Cromer and Sheringham Crab and Lobster festival the theme for artists was a Ships Wheel. Shops in Cromer and Sheringham sponsored wheels that artists painted and they put them in the window for the whole summer. Gallery Norfolk asked me to paint a wheel. I imaged being at sea and the seagulls that followed the boat reflected on my Ships wheel on a sunny day.
I painted the gulls on the beach in Cromer on paper then painted them  on the wheel. Exhibiting the seagulls along side the wheel in the window. On the 30th August all the wheels came together at the front of Cromer pier and were auctioned off for charity. They made a record amount of cash this year. All the charities will be local ones that need help.

Norwich Dandies fundrazr

Norwich Dandies are fund raising for next year. They have quite a few big plans for next year and they have applied for Arts council funding but in order to receive the funding from the arts council they have to raise 10 percent. So I started a crowd funding campaign as we have quite a few perks to offer that make donating easier. Next year we plan Dandifest 2015 bigger and brighter and better and also to major shows in London for disability week and a tour of Norfolk round the villages. Please do donate and if you cant do share the funding page. A big thanks from the Dandies and we hope you can come and join in our events next year we try to make as accessible as possible for everyone. Click here to link to page

Our Big Gig NNUH hospital Sketches 2014

Our Big Gig at the NNUH hospital for 2nd year in a row.
Patients, staff and visitors really enjoyed the live music. The line up was organised by Xenia who also plays the Harp. I was there to look after the musicians and made sure they had a stage and a cuppa tea and were signed in, plugged in or out and ready to play.
