This is a drawing of John Arnold's Dads chicken, one of many he had up on his allotment. I went up there and spent a few hours drawing his chickens while I was at art school in 1991. This is half the chicken from my sketch book. I like the simple expression of the drawing and the look in his eye. John Arnold is a friend from Cleveland art college and he helped me with my painting. He also painted me nude which apparently still hangs on his parents living room wall. John went off to college in Nottingham where he now lives with wife and kids and he now makes sound for films, one day will catch up with him.
